The Usefulness of O=MAR (Metal Artifact Reduction for Orthopedic implants) for Patients with Metal Implants

Abstract
Purpose : This study is to reduce the number of programs of O-MAR video and image NON-MAR Date Metal artifact quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed to evaluate the usefulness of the O-MAR by comparison.

Materials and Methods : December 18, 2013, the average age of the patients with 10 patients undergoing surgical procedures or metal artifacts of days prior to the August 2014 patients who underwent a CT angiography with no admission of Chosun University Hospital, November 73-year-old (51~89 years old), male and female male ratio was three, female 7 people, CT scans of 20 patients who had a previous vertebral metal artefacts treatment or surgery of patients who underwent a mean age of 57 years (range 9-76 years). male and female male ratio was 11 patients and female targets were nine people applied to O-MAR program.
The SNR analysis of O-MAR video and image NON-MAR Date, CNR, HU, quantitative analysis and obtain the SD values

Result : SNR mean value of the L-SPINE O-MAR imaging 11.07, CNR average is 8.46, the mean HU values are 215.32 and an average SD value of the SNR mean value of 121 NON-OMAR video is 16.24, CNR average is 12.07, the mean HU value of 315.95, the average SD value of the P-value is 0.019 CNR 124.73 SNR of the P-value is 0.113 CV-exteremity artery O-MAR image of SNR average is 81, CNR average is 69.28, the mean HU values are 564.35 and an average SD value of 63.02 NON-OMAR image of SNR mean value 73.49, CNR average is 54.27, the mean HU values are 614.89 and an average SD value P value P value of 0.555 CNR of 63.02 SNR was measured as 0.252 in the qualitative assessment L-SPINE O-MAR video score were measured 2¡¾0.394 NON-OMAR Score of images is 1.525¡¾0.278 CV -exteremity artery O-MAR video Score is 1.775¡¾0.307 NON-OMAR Score of images as 1.075¡¾0.307

Conclusion : There OMAR algorithm technique has the effect of reducing the attenuation key is to enable the image diagnosis Metal Artifact.
